8 TIPS TO IMPROVE YOUR BASKETBALL SKILLS.

TIPS TO IMPROVE YOUR BASKETBALL SKILLS

Many young basketball players worry about how they can improve their game, win championships, and be ranked as the best players. Then here are a few pointers to help you improve your game and ensure that you won't be frustrated by being on the bench again.

The article will take not more than 5 minutes to read. I promise to make it interesting and thought-provoking. If you find it useful, please leave a comment or ask a question.
Let's get started.

" I can accept failure, everyone fails at something but i can't accept not trying "                                                                                        Michael Jordan

One, as a young developing player, you must recognize that there will be moments of failure in the game, as well as moments of success. Never give up trying.

1.) PRIORITIZE BALL CONTROL.

One of the simplest ways to become an elite basketball player is to improve your ball handling skills.
Use the proper dribbling posture to practice this skill. To ensure balance, your knees should be shoulder-width apart and you should be on your feet without your knees locked. Then, dribble the ball with your finger tips, making sure it doesn't bounce higher than your knees, and repeat with the opposite hand.

2.) IDENTIFY AND IMPROVE YOUR AREAS OF WEAKNESS

You should concentrate on your areas of weakness. For example, if you can shoot a jumper, you must practice it on a daily basis. To become elite, you must eliminate your flaws and become well-rounded in all areas. It will also take a lot of discipline and consistency on your part to succeed.

3.) IMPROVE YOUR PHYSIC FITNESS.

Running the court for an entire game will require a lot of endurance. Even if you master fundamental skills and are unable to apply them, if you are unable to keep up after five minutes, your coach will prefer to have you on the bench rather than on the floor, which you do not want.
To improve your endurance, go for light runs, hit the weight room to gain muscles that will improve your aggressiveness, and do sprint drills on a daily basis to give you good stamina on the court, allowing you to take your game to the next level.

4.) WORK ON YOUR SHOOTING MECHANICS.

It will help you if you can master a strong shooting mechanic. Begin by pointing your toes to the basket, square up your body, bring your shooting hand up through your elbow above your eye, and finish with a (goose-neck)-"The ball will always go in the direction it last left the hand."

5.) PRACTICE AT A GAME SPEED.

If you excel in practice but take bad shots and dribble poorly in a real game, it means you're not practicing at game speed. Thus, when practicing, always pretend that there is a defender guarding you to help you mimic the pace of a game because a defender in a game will not allow you to square up the ball or put your body in a shooting form. So, when practicing any move, do it at a game-time pace.

6.) WATCH MORE COLLEGE BASKETBALL GAMES.

You'll learn some basic basketball fundamentals by watching college games and observing how teams move with and without the ball. Both on defense and offense. How well they are able to create more scoring opportunities for one another, make quick decisions, shoot, and even make moves.
When you get on the court, this will help you visualize what you can do and how you can do it.

7.) WORK ON CREATING SPACE FROM YOUR DEFENDER.

Learn how to do some cross moves. Start with the fundamentals, such as the cross, between the legs, and behind the back. Keep in mind that the moves should be performed at a game speed.
After that, you can gradually add more cross moves. Changing the drill's speed from slow to fast and then back to slow is also a good idea. Always keep an eye on the court to see what's going on.

8.) CONSISTENCY

The more consistent work you put in, the better your results will be and the more confident you will be.
It appears to be simpler than it is. The problem is with the process and your consistency with it.
